Itincludes password protection, remote wipe, dataencryption, data loss prevention (DLP) and disasterrecovery management (DRM).Data governance, including file access control, retention, centralized oversight and data residency.Administration and management, includingintegration with standard enterprise identity, accessmanagement and authentication protocols, performance reporting, and centralized managementtools for the operational management of theplatform.Integration with corporate on-premises datainfrastructure, enterprise servers and cloud services;also, support for content managementinteroperability services (CMIS), APIs and designtools.Storage, with some using a central data repository,cloud-based or on-premises, and others integratingwith existing third-party repositories. Cloud storagemay include unlimited storage space per user.Gartner defined this market as enterprise filesynchronization and sharing (EFSS) in 2013. We haverenamed it CCP in 2017 to align the market name withthe evolution that file syncing and sharing offeringswent through over the past years. This evolution sawofferings expand well beyond initial filesynchronization and sharing functions to delivercontent-driven collaboration among individuals andteams, lightweight content management, and filecentric workflows. This transformation has beendescribed in the document "The EFSS Market's FutureWill Present an Opportunity for IT Planners" — and inthe 2016 "Magic Quadrant for Enterprise FileSynchronization and Sharing," where this markethttps://www.gartner.com/doc/reprints?id 1-47K93B4&ct 170725&st sbPage 3 of 60

Gartner Reprint2/11/18, 10(21 AMchange was anticipated. This renaming alsorecognizes the changing nature of work and usecases.CCPs originate from the EFSS "destination" offeringsthat were covered in the 2016 Magic Quadrant. Assuch, they are expected to be stand-alone productswith file sync and share as the core capabilityenhanced by collaboration and content managementfunctions. Organizations normally consider CCPofferings for use cases focused on user productivity, external collaboration, and modern and agile workenvironments; and end up purchasing a new product orservice to complement existing content solutions. ThisMagic Quadrant focuses on stand-alone CPP productsbecause they represent the most complex investmentdecisions for organizations; leveraging CCP extensionsof a deployed collaboration platform is a relativelysimpler task.Magic QuadrantFigure 1. The kiteworks architectureemploys a multitier model that separates the web, application and data layers. The product can bedeployed on-premises, as a private cloud (either onpremises or hosted via Azure or Amazon Web Services[AWS], including the Federal Risk and AuthorizationManagement Program [FedRAMP] cloud instance), asa hybrid cloud or as a public cloud. The hybrid modelcan combine the on-premises component with publicand private cloud services. This architecture isconducive to bidirectional integration with enterpriseapplications and workflows.Accellion serves midsize to large regulated or securityconscious organizations, particularly in thegovernment, healthcare, technology and professionalservices sectors. Accellion is stronger in NorthAmerica but has a growing presence in EMEA as well, expanding its salesforce with regionalized leadershipteams and deeper business partnerships in keyindustries. It focuses on regulated industries, specifically healthcare, government and financialservices.Accellion is a good fit for organizations that prioritizesecure and centrally managed access to a variety ofcorporate data repositories; and that requirecustomized apps (mobile, web or desktop) to supportdocument-centric business workflows, while ensuringdata protection and compliance, particularly inregulated markets.
